Privacy Overview
SellServ Voice is a self-hosted communication platform. This policy describes the data handling practices for the official SellServ-hosted instance (chat.sellserv.net).
If you self-host SellServ Voice on your own infrastructure or use the desktop app to connect to a self-hosted server, this policy does not apply as you (or your server administrator) control 100% of your data. The desktop application itself does not collect, transmit, or store any telemetry or personal data to SellServ.
Data We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we store your username, display name, email address (for recovery), and any profile media you upload. Passwords are cryptographically hashed.
Messages and Content
We store the text messages, files, and media you send in channels. This data is only accessible to members of those specific servers or conversations.
Voice and Video
Audio and video streams are transmitted in real-time via WebRTC. These streams flow through our media server for relay only and are never recorded or stored.
Technical Data
We use secure session tokens (JWT) and WebSocket connection states. We do not use third-party analytics trackers or advertising SDKs.
Data Usage & Sharing
Your data is used solely to operate the communication service. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Data is only visible to the intended recipients within the platform's permission system.
Security & Retention
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/HTTPS) for all traffic. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Your data is retained as long as your account is active; deleting your account removes your data from our systems.
